At Pinecrest Retreat we believe in keeping it real. When we came across this video clip of musicians playing in the streets for an unsuspecting audience we fell in love with the spirit of it. So we are sharing it here:

Creativity, Hard Work, and Making "Stuff"
It's this unpretentious attitude and extreme candor that runs thick throughout the above gem of a mini-documentary, a brief and raw glimpse into the studio and mind of a creative soul who just wants to make things (and sometimes make money from them). If you've ever felt detached from lofty artist statements, pretentious press releases or the art world's endless ability to spout "isms," Premo is a much appreciated breath of fresh air.
In under four minutes he touches on issues from death to making a living, from family to why he continues to make against all odds. It's definitely worth a watch.

We were so pleased to host the Cortez Trailer Group last weekend. They were a friendly, enthusiastic organization who had a nice collection of vintage trailers! (our kind of folks!)
Rentals Close for the Season
The Vintage Trailer Rentals at Pinecrest will be "Closed for the Season" after this weekend (Oct 26th). It's just getting to chilly to guarantee the comfort of our guests and of course the issue with early-frost and frozen pipes is a consideration this time of year. It was a wonderful season though! Many of the guests who stayed in the rental trailers loved it so much they bought a vintage trailer of their own and found a perfect Pinecrest site to put it on. Welcome to all you new comers!
Speaking of "new comers", we have a new, very special new vinatge trailer being added to our fleet! A Spartan Imperial Mansion, in excellent shape. (Attention: the two least vintage of the fleet will be FOR SALE soon, to make room for our new pride and joy! Contact Jill if you are interested in purchasing).

You can find Iska on duty at her beautiful yurt on the hill. Also check the black board in the Clubhouse for ways to be in touch with staff members who are on call, or for the main number in case of emergency. (if you see something, say something).

Labor Day 2014: Come Celebrate the Pinecrest Way!
Join us for Labor Day Weekend at PCR! Hope to show a movie on Friday night, maybe two! Saturday Morning Yoga with Lori (and "Quiet Swim") at 9:30 am. 11am hike-- looking for a volunteer to lead. Swimming all day long. Saturday Night "Members Only" Swim & Potluck BBQ at 5-8 pm. Come meet and greet all the NEW Members! Also, bring instruments and bathing suits for Poolside Bonfire "music & tall tales" and late-night swim!

Yoga Instructor & Massage Therapist Lori Munger At Pinecrest
Lori Munger, Yoga Instructor & Massage Therapist has been teaching yoga at the local library and at Pinecrest Retreat (Saturday mornings). She has a wonderful, calming disposition and a very profession nature as noted in this feature article about her in the Julian News. The good news for Pinecresters and visitors alike is that, in addition to the yoga classes, Lori will now be offering massage therapy sessions right here at Pinecrest in the A-Frame. Lori is experienced in may types of massage including Thai.
